SWPPA Guardianship Listening Session
(In conjunction with Office of Elder Justice in the Courts)

This event is free, but registration is required.
SWPPA members, individuals under guardianship, family members, friends, lawyers, court administrators, professional guardians, powers of attorney, professional organizations that serve individuals under guardianship, other interested professionals and community members are all invited to atttend.
The Office of Elder Justice in the Courts (OEJC) is overseeing a grant to assess the utilization of guardianship across the state, and to make recommendations to the courts and community stakeholders in three specific areas:
1. reducing the number of guardianships
2. promoting alternatives
3. improving guardianship monitoring
Representatives of the OEJC will be in attendance to listen to our community representatives about our experiences with guardianship, along with our concerns and suggestions for improving its provisions for anyone needing such protection and support.
